Frank Ocean: The Real Nigga

I'm not a fan of Frank Ocean. I do recognize his talents despite that fact though. The work he has done is genius. After listening to Channel Orange I respect him as an artist. The work he put in on Watch The Throne was phenomenal as far as his production and vocals. Now what I have a hard time understanding is why the fact that he is openly gay(bisexual whatever) has such a negative impact on the public. Personally I feel like the way he's going about this not only deserves respect, but it commands respect as well. The tweet calling out his "haters", the songs on his debut album openly addressing his love for another man, I feel like they all say a lot about his character. He has the right to be just as confident in his sexuality as a straight man. What does his personal affairs have to do with his talent. If you are one of those people who were a fan of Frank Ocean before, then found out he was playing both sides of the fence and automatically started to look at him in a negative light then, that says a lot about your character as well. Grow the hell up people. Elton John was gay and he still was highly noted for his musical talents. Whitney Houston smoked crack, but that didn't stop people from loving her music. I do not understand society at all, but I know one thing: another man's sexual preference will never make me uneasy or question mine. If a straight man can wear pants with no backs to them and high heels, surely I can listen to Forest Gump on my way to work.
